Recurrent VTE (Venous Thromboembolism)
Study Title: Analysis of Gene Expression Profiles in Patients with Recurrent Venous Thrombosis
IRB# Pro00001821
The purpose of this research study is to identify unique gene expression profiles in the blood that characterize patients with an increased tendency to develop recurrent blood clots. One third of patients who have had one blood clot will develop another blood clot after finishing standard treatment (usually six to twelve months of anticoagulant therapy). These patients may benefit from a longer course of anticoagulant therapy.
